CHINA-UK(EU) Plywood Green Supply Chain Training Workshop
From 1 Januray 2021, UK is leaving the EU, In this context, Secretary General of China Forest Products Industry Association and our local government held an urgent meeting with large wood-based panels companies exporting to the European market.
Our company was fortunate to be invited to participate in this summit, mainly learning about FLUG, PPP, legislation and other policies. And we discussed about many countries’ Legislation on timber legality, such as USA, EU, AUSTRALIA, JAPAN, CANADA, KOREA etc. At the same time, we also had an in-depth exchange on forest law enforcement and governance activities in developing countries, as well as logging and export bans in timber-supplying countries. It is important that China’s Top 10 Tropical Timber Suppliers list guides us through efficient and legal procurement channels.
Finally, we had a live video conference with the British Timber Council, where Dr Nick Boulton explained to us about the many similarities and differences between CE and UK CA, giving us more flexibility in supplying the EU and UK markets.
